Neurofeedback, also called EEG Biofeedback, is a type of biofeedback that uses operant conditioning to change the way the brain functions.

Neuro Colorado offers proven brain-based therapies to address conditions as diverse as Anxiety/depression, mild traumatic brain injuries, and ADD/ADHD in children and adults—scientifically and without drugs. Use our methods separately or combine them in a customized plan.

Neurofeedback

One of Neuro Colorado’s therapeutic strategies is Neurofeedback, or EEG Biofeedback. Neurofeedback training is exactly that: a training method for the brain to balance and “rewire” the way the brain functions. This is accomplished through operand conditioning based on real-time feedback about what your brain is doing then teaching you how to change the way your brain is functioning. Its purpose is to address stubborn conditions that have become roadblocks to mental, emotional, and physical health. Think of it as physical therapy for your brain, in the same way that physical therapy strengthens and retrains parts of the body that are injured, weakened, or out of balance so Neurofeedback retrains and strengthens part of your brain.

Neurofeedback has its foundations in neuroscience and psychology. It meets the American Psychological Association’s definition of an “evidence-based intervention”— helping people of all ages since the early 1970s get free from conditions they’d lost hope of ever conquering naturally.

In neurofeedback, the client’s brain activity is first mapped using a QEEG brain imaging equipment. The quality of brainwaves that are recorded act like a mirror to show what is going on in the brain. Client and practitioner then set up a schedule of treatment sessions using EEG Biofeedback. Using special software that records brain activity, the EEG equipment gives feedback and coaxes change in brain activity through various exercises, into a designated range to address the problem. Clients usually have a “felt sense” about the changes that are taking place, and are surprised to find they can manage these balanced new states themselves, long after the actual sessions have ended.

Our neurotherapy services include the following state-of-the-art methodologies:

How does Neurofeedback work?

Our therapists are highly trained, all have Masters degrees in related fields, and our clinic sets a high standard in Denver and the Front Range for the wide variety of the latest EEG Biofeedback equipment we make available to our clients.

Why is neurofeedback so effective?

Neurofeedback is a way to see what is actually happening in the brain in real-time. And it doesn’t lie. It’s an accurate, scientific picture of a person’s brain activity, and provides the client and therapist with the raw materials for their work. There is no guessing, no psychoanalysis, just honest scientific data and a plan of action that takes into consideration the client’s life as a whole.
